Off to a Great Start of Summer

And just like that I am on my summer break! I had such a fun weekend with my friends. This past weekend was my last weekend in Johnson City until the beginning of fall semester 2019. It was a fun filled weekend that screamed summer!

Lucky for me, my weekend starts on Thursday evenings because I do not have Friday classes (at least for my current semester).

Here in Johnson City, it was rainy and chilly all day on Friday so not much was accomplished on my part! I’m an avid bed maker and do it every morning after I wake up but on Friday.. that didn’t happen (and that’s rare). Instead I laid in bed for the majority of the day but I must say, it was pretty nice to not have to do anything (haha)!

Of course Bumper had to be in a pic 🙂

It was Jacob’s last day of work so he celebrated with some beer

On Saturday, it was blue skies and perfect weather! By 8:30 a.m. I was already more productive than I was on Friday as a whole. I had already showered, made my bed, got myself ready, and vacuumed my room (that’s more like it)! Johnson City started back up the farmers market for the summer season and it was the first Saturday back so my sister and I decided to go. It was a great crowd and so much fun! Live music, fruit, vegetables, plants, jams, soap, coffee, food trucks, you name it, it was probably there. There is this awesome food truck called “Auntie Ruth’s Donuts” and they are honestly the best donuts I have EVER tasted in my life. Not to mention the donut is the size of my face! The line was soo long but I did not ever care. I was getting that donut!

After the farmers market, I went back to my apartment and relaxed and was then back downtown at 4. Johnson City was celebrating 150 years with a Block Party. (Fun Fact: Johnson City is one of the oldest towns in Tennessee.) There was more live music, food trucks, and beer. Lots of beer. Johnson City has many breweries so these types of festivals always come with unique local beer.

Come Sunday it was back to the usual to do list: grocery shop, clean, relax, etc. Overall, this weekend was a great way to kick off summer which ended with baking some good ole homemade chocolate chip cookies.

I hope everyone has a great week ahead!

I hope that you enjoyed this! If you did, please make sure to follow along so you don’t miss out! Thank you!
