Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial Day!

Who doesn’t love a good long 3 day weekend?!

I had such a fun and jammed packed weekend and I wish I could relive it. I was able to spend some much needed time with my family which is always fun.

On Saturday morning, I celebrated my cousin graduating from law school! After the ceremony we went to lunch at an AMAZING restaurant called Merchants. I was a first timer and it was delish. After the lunch my mom and I rushed home because she was attending a wedding and I was going to the Eric Church concert.

A few months ago, when I heard that Eric Church was going on tour, I looked up tickets and they were around $200 which I was NOT going to cough up. Two weeks ago I saw a commercial about him coming and I decided to just re-check to see how many tickets were left and I was shocked to see that the price lowered to $30. I immediately called Jacob to tell him and later that night we bought 2 tickets🙂 (We are both huge Eric Church fans and went to his concert a few years ago.)

Before the concert we decided to eat at a fun and upbeat restaurant with live music in downtown Nashville. The concert was at the Titans stadium so it was a short walk there after we ate.

The concert was AHHH-MAZ-ING. Eric Church is such a great performer and his concerts are always so fun. I was able to enjoy the night with 56,521 people (he broke the attendance record). The weather was beautiful, although extremely hot. I would rather be hot than have it raining since it was an outdoor concert.

On another note, since it was an outdoor concert, I have yet another thing to check off the summer bucket list.🙂

The concert started at 8:00 and didn’t end until 12:45. We decided to leave around 12:10 because Jacob works on the lake and had to be there at 8:30 the next day.

Saturday morning I decided that I would try to be festive so I headed to Dunkin’ Donuts to pick up some festive Memorial Day donuts. Sadly, they did not have any patriotic donuts so instead I got a few different kinds. And of course if I go to Dunkin’ I HAVE to bring Bumper so he can get a pup cup.

I then took Bumper to the dog park to play with some other puppers. My cousin came over to my house around 11:00 and she, my mom, and I spent the day at the pool. We were there until 3:00 and decided that we should probably go. I got slightly burned but it was worth it. (I’ll probably regret not using a higher SPF later on down the road.. oops.)

That night my dad grilled some KILLER steaks and loaded sweet potatoes. Writing about them is making me salivate. (Is that TMI? Sorry.) My dad and I have been on a Black Mirror kick and watch a few episodes a week. And let me tell you.. that show is INTENSE!

If this doesn’t make you hungry than I think something is wrong. I mean just look at that perfectly baked sweet potato.

On Sunday, my family hung out at the lake. My uncle grilled some ribs that were fall-off-the-bone-good. It was another BEAUTIFUL day with the sun shining and a slight breeze blowing. I couldn’t imagine spending Memorial Day inside. I am a sunshine LOVER so it was a day well spent.

And of course, Bumper had to have a Memorial Day photo shoot. So enjoy these cute pictures of my happy little Bumper Boy.

My weekend was well spent. I am feeling tired but SO extremely happy. I am so glad that I was able to enjoy all that I did.

I hope you had a great long weekend and fun Memorial Day!
