Move In Update and Vacation

Wow! These past few days have been so chaotic. I have officially moved into my house (YAYYY)!

Last monday, July 15th, we left Nashville at 5 a.m. and made our way to Johnson City. When I say we I mean myself, Jacob and Bumper, Jacob’s dad Kenny, and Kenny’s friend Tim. We had a nice little caravan going on. Kenny had a trailer full of stuff for the house so he took up the front, I was in the middle, and Jacob was the caboose.

It always seems that it is hardest to fall asleep when you have to wake up early the next day. That night it probably took me an hour and a half to fall asleep and I am one to usually conk out within 5 minutes of laying down. Waking up that morning was not the best but driving while seeing the sun rise was so pretty.

I made it to my house around 10:30 a.m. and immediately started unloading my car and cleaning. The house is 105 years old… crazy right? There is so much charm and character in the house but it was DIR-TYYYY! After walking around the house for 5 minutes, the bottom of my feet were black. So I put a hold on moving things in and started mopping the floors. The mop wasn’t doing the job I needed so I had to go out and buy a good ol’ swiffer. I also picked up a few wall plugs ins to give the house a fresher smell.

That night, I started painting the ceiling and walls. Yes, the ceiling needed painting. Which by the way, painting a ceiling is hard work!!! Painting walls is fun but the ceiling… no thank you. I am proud to say that the walls are now complete thanks to the help of Jacob who did the ceiling for me because I literally couldn’t.

The past week and a half has consisted of me getting WiFi, having MAJOR WiFi difficulties, running errands, moving out of my apartment, cleaning my apartment, building things for my house, cleaning the house, painting walls, and so much more.

Fast forward to 9 days later to where I am at now in this whole thing. For the first time in what feels like forever, I am actually able to write a blog post! Woohoo! I am currently sitting on the floor, drinking a nice warm cup of joe, it is pouring down rain outside (my house has a tin roof so the sound is perfection), and I have Gilmore Girls on TV. I am basically living my best life. I am almost completely moved in. I am just waiting on my mattress to arrive. I ordered a Zinus mattress online and I am so excited to get it. I didn’t expect it to take this long but it should be here tomorrow.

I am waiting to show the finished room until it is completely done which will be soon. I cannot wait to post what it looks like. I am really proud of it! I’ll show a sneak peek of what the room looked like when I first moved in. Get ready for it…

TA-DAAA!

This is why I painted my room. The color that I chose for the walls makes the room look and feel 10x bigger. Also, I was going to buy a big mirror when I got up here but the guy we are renting the house from left this HUGE awesome one! I took it off the wall and now I have it propped up. It is sooo pretty!!

After this hectic week, I am so excited to be going to the beach!! I am going with Jacob and his family. Every summer, his family goes to Myrtle Beach for vacation and they go camping on the beach. It is so much fun! They have a really nice motor home that is literally 20 feet away from the beach. Talk about a great view!

Usually me and Jacob will fly into Charleston and his parents will pick us up from the airport. (His parents go for a little over 2 weeks each summer but Jacob and I never have that much time available.) This year, we are driving! We are leaving tomorrow at 1 in the morning. Yes, 1 a.m. We are staying for about 10 days. I am so excited to be able to just relax. My sister and her husband are going to be watching my sweet Bumper boy. (Shout out to you Maria🙌 You da best).

I think that is all for now. Stay tuned for house updates, beach fun, and just life! I hope you enjoyed this little life update.

If you are still here reading, thank you so so much. Make sure to follow along to join in on the fun😊
